Principal for the Day
Mar 27th, 2009 | By art rogers | Category: Church, General Christian, MissionalSo today I’ve been invited to serve as “Principal for the Day” at Skelly Elementary, the neighborhood school that our church has adopted to serve.
I was kind of blown away by the offer. It says to me that the leadership at the school feels just as good about us as we feel about them. I will be speaking to the students and generally shadowing the “real” principal, Mike Howell. Later in the day there is a luncheon for all of the “Principals for the Day” across Tulsa and then back to the school It’ll be a good time of networking and continuing to build relationships with the good folks at our adopted school.
I’ll see if I can’t come up with a few pics and let you know how it goes.

I think that this is so cool! What an incredible blessing to our relationship with the school. With so many hurting students & families in our community, so it so wonderful that the school is allowing us to invest in the lives of them. Let us not forget the other people from SDBC making a difference at Skelly Elementary. The dedicated group of teacher/staff/mentors are there daily working and investing in this community.
You didn’t comment on how Bonnie was taking this though. With her many years of study, and getting her Master’s in School Admin last year, how is she accepting that you made principal before her? :)
No kidding aside, way to go! Build those relationships!
