Dave--have not seen you in many years. May be Lombard was the last time. I am 10 years senior to you expereincing the same things in Denver metro area. Key--"a way of life together that is Jesus in our world". We are not planting churches but embedding transformational Christ following communities in our communities.

Tough to do at 60 when your whole life has been in professional ministry but can we afford not to?

CB,

I agree with your assessment of the way things were playing out 30+ years ago - especially from the "know the 'right' way" crowd.

Also, I am glad that people are figuring out that it is for the Kingdom and our King that we do the work, not anyone or anything else. That's a very good thing.

Thank you for your blessings on me, my family and my church. I pray that you, Karen and those precious children have a wonderful season and that God continues to pour out His blessings on all of you and your flock.

Art,

I know you know that as far back as three, three and a half decades ago some guys and their wives were starting churches in this same manner. They had no support from anyone. As a matter of fact certain entities of established "order" worked against them "just starting a church" without proper support and "guidance" from those who actually "know what they are doing."

The point of my comment is; Now it seems a lot of folks are just now catching up to what some old guys were doing long ago with even less support than is available today due to a larger group being of a like mind.

Starting a church should always be based solely on the call of God and nothing else. And, you don't even have to survive. You just have to be faithful.

Art, I know you already know all of this. I just have not commented over here in a while and I wanted you to know I am still alive and rockin' on:-)

You and your family have a great Christmas. May your hearts have joy and your souls know peace as you live out the faith before the flock to which you have been assigned by Christ who has come to atone for our sin.

Merry Christmas, Pal.

In Christ Free,
cb
