Though most people say they are excited to get an extra hour’s sleep when we “fall back,” it’s been my experience that they use the hour to stay up later…
“It’s really only 10!”
I wonder how many people actually get less sleep than a normal Saturday night?

This has been a thought of mine for years. For one thing, I seldom go to sleep, and then sleep all night. I have awakened one or more times overnight, for years.
That’s not a problem as it’s kind of fun being warm and comfy and dozing back off. But in THIS night, I think about the time change deal and “what time is it really”, etc. THAT keeps me awake longer.
Now .. we never set an alarm any more anyway, since I’m retired, so I sleep however long I’m going to sleep, anyway.
I have an alternate way of handling the time change, which I like: change times at noon on the next Monday. In the spring, everyone goes to lunch at noon and comes back an hour later, at two. Then, in the Fall, everyone goes to lunch at noon and comes back two hours later, at one.

I get up every morning between 6 and 6:30am without an alarm. Of course my body wouldn’t listen to me about the time change. I was up at 5:20am this morning. It’ll be this way for a couple of weeks. Oh well…more quiet time.
