Phriday foto: 08-29-08 – The truth about my office…

My office is a wreck.  Whenever I have pictures taken in my office, I usually clean my desk and make sure the junk isn’t in the frame.

The truth is, I still don’t have my diplomas hung, my desk is covered with commentaries and projects… and junk.  My shelves aren’t full and I still have books and miscellaneous detritus in boxes in my garage.  I have files that belong in the filing cabinet, but the movers just piled them in boxes, so they are ALL out of order, and I’ve never taken time to reorganize them.

The one bright spot is that I have shelves that I can dedicate to books that I received from my Uncle Ross’ library after he passed away.  I remember him more often – which is a good thing, since he was well worthy of emulating – when I see those shelves as opposed to having those books scattered in with the rest of them.

If you enjoy these, feel free to check out my photoblog.

I used to have this little picture of a messy desk in my room growing up. On it was the following: “Messiness is a sure sign of creativity.” Don’t know if it is true but it made me feel better.

The more I think about it…my parents didn’t buy it either.

Oh well. In my unimportant opinion it at least shows that work happens there.

WOW!!! you got a microwave AND a coffee pot in your office? That’s cool!

The only thing I’m ahead of you on is that I’ve “organized” my bookshelves. My desk looks like yours.

That bare wall is staring at me.

I bought the coffee pot and the microwave was leftover from our move here, because the house we bought had one built in. But I never use it. I used to, but it made my office smell like food – really badly. So now it just sits there, unused and making my office look like a kitchenette.

What you don’t see is the small fridge on the floor behind the computer desk on the left hand side of that picture. I bought that, too, and waited forever to catch one on sale. As in about four years. Finally, though, there it is, safely keeping my coffee beans fresh and lean cuisine dinners frozen.

Wow, it reminds me of Marty’s.
His office always looks like he is just moving in or moving out.
Thankfully, it is not at our house, therefore, I can’t complain too much.

You know, I wasn’t going to say anything, but since you did…

Marty’s office makes me feel better about my office. Of course, that the mess is solidly books that he has read/is reading – more than I even have on my shelves – kind of makes me feel worse.

I guess it balances it out.

OK Art, just the title of this post made me look. :) Suggestion: the pictures need to be bigger and in color. Come on full we believe in full disclosure. :)

I’m glad you enjoyed my pictures, and you will enjoy them even more when you click on the little ones (thumbnails) and they will become big ones.

They won’t be color, though. Sorry.
