I don't have Twitter in my blog's RSS, because Google indexes those pages with great joy and excitement and quite frankly, I do NOT want those comments available so easily online.

Folks read my blog to learn about marketing/make money, not to learn about my hour-to-hour happenings.

Data points,

Quinn,

Links from readers and friends are always welcome.

I haven't seen JOTT, but I'm scared already. Or is it excited? Could be more fodder for the blog... :D

I do feel like an idiot but that's okay. There are lots of topics that make me feel such. It just seems tech idiots are more and more in the minority. Oh well. No hard feelings. Y'all just twitter away and I'll just wait for more ministerial / theological discussions. I'm not the best commenter anyway. The blogs I frequent find me more of a taker than a giver. Probably something I should work on.

For the nerds in all of us ... saw Iron Man last night. I went in with negative thoughts because I didn't like the choice of Robert Downey Jr. and because Iron Man was one of my favorite comic books as a kid. I aimed my expectations low but was surprised. It was pretty good. Warning- the first portion of the movie (when Tony Stark is quite the womanizer and war-monger) may not be very good for young, impressionable minds although he learns some lessons and does aim for change. Second warning- the main character is also an alcoholic which the ramifications of will not be dealt with until the sequel apparently. Well done though.

Benji-
I'm impressed. I didn't know anyone else would bring up the Bambi reference. I, too, fear that an overabundance of folk have gotten twitterpated. Maybe it's the springtime air; that's what the owl would say.

Michael,

We've all been there. I remember the first time a teenager brought a cell phone to Youth Group and we didn't have one in our home. It seemed outrageous to me.

And my Treo is falling apart after 2 years of hard use, but I can't afford to replace it. My wife and I literally talked about using duct tape on it last night.

But I scrimped and saved for it, as I do for all of my tech stuff.

I hope you don't really feel like an "idiot" for not caring for tech stuff. Really. Just because I'm a nerd doesn't mean that everyone should be. I just want to help those other geeks out there be better at their geekiness.

So we have gone from "Would Jesus wear a rolex on his television show?" to "Would Jesus twitter while He walked down the road to Emmaus?"

Art, I have begun to feel like an idiot when reading your blog lately. Although I am young by many standards I was positioned right before the technology wave and have yet to have the income to let me dabble in it. My wife and I remember being in college in the early to mid 90's and seeing no one with cell phones. I don't remember a single person with one. I do remember stopping at pay phones to call someone...do they still have pay phones? TWO YEARS after graduating I am teaching in a middle school where nearly half the kids are bringing cell phones to school!

God gives a lot to some and not so much to others. We simply have to be a good steward of what we are given right? No bitterness and no jealousy (most of the time) intended in comparing family incomes but my palm pilot is the paper calender my association gives me. My stylus is some random business' pen I have accidentally walked off with. I'm still not sure if you have just invented the word "twitter" or not. My income is not the only hindrance I also pastor a church so far out in the countryside that we have to pipe in sunshine. We are 30 minutes from the nearest town with a grocery store. Most folks in my congregation don't even do email, so twittering isn't on our topic list.

I hope you all aren't reading a complaining tone into my typing. I find it funny to be 34 and tech-less. My youth group laughed at me the other day when I referred to a Walkman. Dude! I thought it was awesome to get one as a birthday present in high school! Now they are asking what a Walkman is? My parents were still listening to their 8 tracks when I was in middle school! I'm feeling too old now! Think I'll go outside and watch the deer play in the field. Fell free to twitter and rss (random squirrel shooting?) while I'm away...whatever it is. God bless.
