Like what you see?  There’s more on my photoblog

This is not very artistic, but it is humorous.  The van is parked in front of a Hispanic Speaking Alcoholics Anonymous meeting center.

Which is next door to a bar…

Just for fun, here’s a close up of the group’s sign…

You will have to judge for yourself whether or not they have planned things out poorly or very, very well.

It goes without saying (yet, I say it anyway) that we hope it is the latter.

Too bad your car wasn’t parked in front of the Beer & Pool Hall next door. THAT would have been SOMETHING.

Sorry. Since I retired, I have this idle mind thing going on….

    Art,
That’s both funny and awful, all at the same time!

Rick – I know, dark humor, huh?

    Bob,

I had a professor who was once a Pastor in Hot Springs, AR, where there is a horse racing track. He began a ministry to those in the racing industry as an outreach to them. He acted as chaplain to the jockeys and even had the privilege of leading worship services at the track. Talk about being where lost people are, he was doing it.

Anyway, one of his more “Fundamentalist” (note the capital “F”) church members, a lady, saw his pick up truck parked at the Race Track one day. She publicly jumped him at church the next Sunday and told him that he ought not leave his truck in certain places because people will associate him and the church with certain behaviors and assume that they are endorsed.

The Prof replied, also in front of everyone, that Jesus was publicly seen with sinners and that, while many assumed much about that fact – and also complained – Jesus still went to them.

He then said that he was happy to associate with all manner of sinners and didn’t really mind who saw it.

She scowled, turned on her heel and marched off.

The Prof then said that a couple of days later, he was out visiting at night and called for his wife to pick him up, which she did.

He had parked his truck in front of the lady’s house and left it there for a couple of days.

Thought you might like that story.

Haha, if only AA were for-profit. It’d be a marriage made in heaven– out one door, in the other.

    Joe,

    That is really funny.

    Only in America. :-)
