Vietnam: Training
Feb 12th, 2008 | By art rogers | Category: Uncategorized
Today, Dennis Jefferes is coming to Tulsa to train our advance team. He’ll be bringing us information on the people groups, customs and systems that we will experience as we leave for Vietnam, three weeks from today.
Our itenerary includes a stay in Hanoi for about half our time “in country” and then in the more rural region of Sa Pa for the rest. Sa Pa is in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, so I expect to see some amazing sights. You know that Phriday fotos will be good for a while… :) I am taking my Canon EOS and a couple of lenses as well as the rather inexpensive digital video camera that I mentioned before.
More on what I’ll be taking in a video segment coming up later.
God’s heart for the city keeps coming back to me, knowing that while we work in Sa Pa, the work in Hanoi is most likely to be more effective in reaching the rural surrounding regions. If the gospel takes root in Hanoi, the comings and goings of so many to and from the city will carry the Gospel out to the outer regions, and it will do so through the natural infrastructure and culture of the region.
Vietnam is on God’s heart, therefore, it is my destination…
great stuff Art…
Happy for you and your church!
I was just at Northwood for their Turbo last weekend.
