It's in the Bible...To know of a crime and not report it, makes you just as guilty.

Art,

In response to item 3 above--

That's been the problem for a couple of decades. Rank and file Baptists aren't trusted with the truth. Public reputations seem to be valued more than the truth. In Matthew 7, Jesus says we'll know people by their fruit. It does no good to lock up in the root cellar the fruit produced by our leadership.

So we're left with innuendo that leads nowhere. Any evidence needs to come out. Let everyone evaluate the fruit and determine whether wrongdoing has or hasn't gone on. Let everyone decide if the fruit we're making is something we should be happy with.

Sitting on the truth does nobody any favors.

Art,
This is a very good post, but covers so much ground I’ll only make one point.

The surprise of the day for a lot of folks was the Executive Committee of the SBC reprimanding the Executive Committee of the IMB because they broke bylaws in what they had done to Wade. They pointed out that Wade could sue.

It’s wonderful what Wade did to help the fired woman Hebrew professor to sue Patterson was now helping Wade.

I mean some male egos got their eyes open they could no longer break civil law in their treatment of Christians and count on ‘Christians don’t sue Christians’.
I don’t think Patterson saying if anyone sued a Christian they were not a Christian was very convincing.

Maybe someone had a dream and Christians are free at last.
