These are some pictures one of our church members sent of a flag football game we had at church on last Sunday. Like many churches, we had a fellowship meal Sunday night in lieu of services. Prior to the game, the Old Men (over 18) took on the Young Guns (18 and under) in a fun game in near perfect conditions. We had a rather large crowd complete with cheerleaders of all ages. Old Men beat the Young Guns, 35-7. I think they are laying in wait for revenge.

To say the least, a good time was had by all. Yes, the “Young Guns” will retaliate when the time is right. They may even bring in some “ringers” with outstanding ability to “take the wind out of the sails” of the “old guys”. How many of the “old guys” could withstand repeated windsprints ?
Hopefully, a rematch is in the works; maybe for s spring game —– ??
The food and fellowship following the big game was well attended and enjoyed by all. Our thanks the the “event planners” for both the game and dinner.

Fun! We started doing this about 5 years ago or so. Every fall, we have 2-3 weeks of flag football on Sunday afternoons. It has grown so much that this year, we had 4 teams playing on two fields in a round robin tournament. People were inviting folks to play that I had never seen before, and several were unchurched. We had families come out to watch as well. It was awesome! It gets pretty rough though. Everyone is sore for days and I actually broke a finger a few years ago while reaching for a flag. This year, I played on the line and I got hit so hard while chasing down the QB one time that I literally was taken off my feet on a block and landed on my side. My shin was bruised for a couple of weeks. The guy who did it apologized and didn’t realize that he hit me that hard. I think there must be some pent up aggression toward the pastor or something!
Anyway, I am proud that I jumped back up and kept playing!
