BFL Week 4 Standings

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 @ 12:01 am

I hope to have some follow up answers on my post Inviting the Lost to Church 1 by tomorrow.

In the meantime, please enjoy the Week 4 standing of the Blogtown Football League.

My team, the Ramblin’ Wreckers has scraped back into a 2-2 start. My angst is compounded this week in that I traded Dallas Clark for two wide receivers, and therefore had to let a wide receiver go: Patrick Crayton, Dallas, who had a blowout week and was the receiver I had been needing and hoping he would be. This is compounded by the fact that the King of the Patriots picked him up. That team is 4-0 and not in need of blowout receivers.

This is fun, huh? At least Scott Gordon (TheNOTS) is not talking smack this week - yet… :)

Oh…and look at who else is at 4-0! ;)
You have to admit, though, that getting Dwayne Bowe for Dallas Clark has worked out well for you. Maybe you should have dropped Derick Mason and kept Crayton? Or maybe Dallas’ opponents will stop double teaming TO because of what Crayton did last week and Crayton will return to average status.

But now the bye weeks really start to kick in. I’m pretty resigned to the fact that I’m losing week 6 because I have four starters out that week and in this league teams are really thin due to the number of teams.

Nevertheless…I plan to be 5-0 after this coming weekend (thanks to my opponent being hit hard with byes).

Ask…and you shall receive! (But I didn’t ask! You shall receive anyway!!)

ESPN23456.com.org might have reported that TheNOTS were overheard lamenting the fact they have currently fallen out of the playoffs - for now. One team member, who will remain nameless, rejoiced in the fact that they were still ahead of the Racoon Mafia (and wondered where their coach learned to spell…maibee hees a soonar fan? ;-) ).

The coach, addressing the team about this week’s competition, said, “There’s just something fishy about this team. These bottom feeders are not better than we are. We can win this game.”

He then held up a newspaper article with a headline: “Smith is Weak & Whiney.” Coach Gordon-dy lambasted the reporterette, Jeanie Cartoon, saying, “No way. NO WAY! No one kicks my receiver when he’s down…unless it’s me! He will be getting off his butt this week and working harder than ever, but no little lady reporter is going to call any of my players weak! They are NOTS! That’s all. You make me want to regurgitate.”

    Let’s go FishBoys!

“Remember, be excellent to each other!”

I am certainly not complaining about Dwayne Bowe, but I fear teams will start double teaming him since no one else at KC has done anything and he will return to a more average output. Mostly, I lament stocking the already overloaded KOTP. Oh well.

Scott, you were right, I didn’t ask… nevertheless, we did receive. :)
