Ed Stetzer brings powerful response
Jun 13th, 2007 | By art rogers | Category: Live Blogging, SBC, San Antonio '07Ed’s sermon was devastating. I was personally crushed in my spirit being convicted of my distraction from the message of hope to the lost.
Ed also devastated the convention, addressing the BFM, division on tertiary issues and putting the misson first.
The video is a must.
Again, this is another leader among us who has stepped to the plate and called us to unity and mission.
My favorite line (among sooooo many):
Wasn’t the promise of the Conservative Resurgence that we could all agree on the same basic things so that we could all go together to win the lost?
(or some approximation of that)
The old saying I have heard is that Ed, “really put that one in our mailbox.”
After his message I had to go to that meeting room that is the best barometer of the effectiveness of a message. There were five men I would consider to be older messengers (over 60) in line in front of me. One of them said words to this effect: “That boy can really preach”. Another immediately replied, “And he really knows what he is talking about”. All the others agreed. You could not have gotten a more positive response if you had announced free chocolate cake in the lobby.
Agreement is one thing. Following through is another but Ed’s words may serve to change the mindset of a lot of us and get us going in the right direction.
