Phriday foto 5-18-07
May 18th, 2007 | By art rogers | Category: Phriday fotosSorry about not blogging much this week. It has been one of the most stressful and busy weeks of 20 years in ministry. Praise God, He has seen me through thus far. Still a little ways to go, yet, but He is faithful.
Next week, or in the next couple of weeks, I am going to post an article summarizing the issues of the SBC and my involvement thus far and for the future. It will be a major post and one that I want to be exactly precise, so give me some time. I will tell you, the title is, “End Game.”
In the meantime, enjoy some Phriday fotos:

This is a picture I took standing in the Lewis River, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming – facing south. The Grand Tetons are in the far background. I was fly fishing. After a couple of hours, I had three strikes and I was out. Still, it was a beautiful way to spend the day.

One of the many waterfalls in Yellowstone. This one was just alongside the road.
In the words of the philosopher, Napoleon Dynamite, might I say, “LUCKEEY.”
Great photos, I hope to go there myself one day.
Sometimes life is like the top picture–sometimes it’s like the bottom picture. I hope all is well with you right now, Art. Thanks for your ministry to us and among us. Exodus 14:14
Don’t know the author, but here are some thoughts that sometimes resonate with me in seasons of stress in ministry:
How baffling are you, oh church, and yet how I love you!
How you have made me suffer, and yet how much I owe you!
I should like to see you destroyed, and yet I need your presence.
You have given me so much scandal and yet you have made me understand sanctity.
I have seen nothing in the world more devoted to obscurity, more compromised, more false, and I have touched nothing more pure, more generous, more beautiful. How often I have wanted to shut the doors of my soul in your face, and how often I have prayed to die in the safety of your arms.
No, I cannot free myself from you, because I am you, although not completely.
And where should I go?
Guys,
Thanks so much for the encouraging comments. They have been a salve for me this weekend.
Art,
I somehow found my way onto your sight. These shots of Yellowstone are captivating. How long were you there? What were your highlights? What a great place to experience rest.
Luke,
Great to have you visiting. Yellowstone is just as you describe it: “a great place to experience rest.”
I’ve been there twice for a week each time. The whole place is a highlight. There are still enormous amounts of things that I haven’t seen, but would like to do so.
If you go to Flickr, you can see some other pics of mine. Click on the set labeled Yellowstone. I am sure you will like it. That set is just a drop in the bucket. I have so many more that I haven’t had time to upload yet.
Again, thanks for dropping in.
