He spoke in chapel once at SEBTS when I was a student. He remarked then that the days of family birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events were marked out. He did not and would not schedule anything that would conflict with special family days. He was faithful to his wife. On a more humorous note, he said in the same message that he knocked on every door in starting the church and came to know at the dogs in town on a first name basis.

Art

Thanks for your kind wisdom. Now is the time to pray for those who will miss him the most: his family, Thomas Road Baptist Church, and Liberty University.

God Bless

No man is perfect and especially those in public view have their every imperfection highlighted. Yet, as you have said, Dr. Falwell was faithful to his wife, his family and his ministry. Well done, good and faithful servant.

The very first thing I thought of before I thought of anything else was the fact that he was there in Heaven in the presence of God.

His absence will certainly be felt.

In the early 1970's, I drove around central Indiana in my job, every day. I listened to several preachers and one of them was Dr. Falwell. I still remember hearing the Old Time Gospel Hour coming on as I drove. Those were good times.

Thanks, Dr. Falwell. He has some piece of whatever I am today.

dr. jerry falwell was a great man. i didnt always agree with him....his emphasis on politics and the jim bakker thing. but, dr. falwell had a great impact on the evangelical world, and upon this nation as well. may we all influence so many for Jesus and for righteousness. God bless the falwell's.

Tim,

Falwell and I probably wouldn't have seen eye to eye on quite a bit of things and the "Evangelical World" might have been one of them.

Nevertheless, he was faithful to his family and his church. Upon his passing, I can, at least be gracious.

Thanks for the comment.

Brother Art,

Great insights. I just finished posting an article about this also. Certainly, there is a void in the Evangelical World.

Blessings,
Tim
