talking about jerry springer type stuff. this picture escapade is really in that line, wouldnt you say? lets see….making fun of southwestern seminary, dr. patterson, dr. caner….making light of serious allegations against someone….sounds like a jerry springer show to me.

you know, some of yall get on to me for making some observations about the convention….simply stating what i saw…and then, i see this picture deal with yall’s comments. well, does the phrase…getting the log out of your eye before getting the speck out of someone elses eye….ring a bell? or, put in another way, the pot calling the kettle black?

    David,

Who said anything bad about you? My friend, all I said is lighten up. Art was having fun. That is what what we do as friends. I put a picture of Art up on my blog a few months ago. Marty put up one of me Ben and Wade last week. I laughed. I didn’t get upset. Have fun and enjoy life.

    kevin,

my comments have nothing to do with art. art was probably just having a little fun. art seems like a good guy. my comments had to do with mr. ben cole whipping me on his blog for my observations to les about the identity conf. and saying that i was a jerry springer type person; and then wade jumping into the deal here with his angry volfan comments.

there just seems to be a double standard….thats all. dont you think?

    also, my prayer was sincere.

Volfan007. Thanks for your prayer. I believe you when you say it is sincere. So is our exhortation to lighten up. By the way, the picture that made Marty put up last week making fun of Kevin and me was the absolute worst photograph ever to be posted on the net. It was true to life for Ben, but Kevin is right, the caricature of us was horrible. However, we both laughed. When we can’t laugh anymore we are in trouble.

I wish I could have met you in Memphis. Maybe sometime soon. Again, thanks for your prayers.

    In His Grace,

    Wade

    Vol,

Please don’t be hurt. This is my fault. It was me that took you to task for wrongly saying Ben was avoiding Dr. Patterson. You were wrong, but obviously my pointing it out to you has caused you much more pain than Ben has suffered in all of this. For that I do apologize.

In closing, I will say something from Tombstone to lighten our day. Vol, I’am ya’ huckleberry.

again, i aint mad at nobody. i dont like for people to say things about me that arent true, but i aint mad.

also, i probably do need to lose some weight, ben. i’ve just been a large person most of my life. most of my family are quite large as well. it just dont look like thats gonna happen anytime soon.

wade, you and i have disagreed about a lot this past year, bro. we would probably agree on a lot more things that most people realize. i just think you go too far. i am just being honest here. maybe one day we will meet. then, you will see that i like to have fun more than anyone. and, i really prefer to not fight. but, i will stand for what i believe. and, i will seek to be what the Lord wants me to be. whether anyone agrees with me, or not.

cb, thats funny. i loved that movie. bro., i would hate to fight with you….even if i am three times your size. you just look tough.

    Mr. Worley:

You wrongly assume that I was speaking about your weight. I was speaking about your comments, almost from the moment you introduced yourself, that you were afraid of using your real identity on the internet because you feared your identity could be stolen so easily. I thought, “this guy needs to lighten up,” as in “stop being so paranoid.”

    Just FYI.

    ben,

also, i told you that day in jackson that i used to go into chat rooms and witness to people. i was threatened in a lot of ways by people in those rooms who didnt like me sharing Jesus with them. in fact, my life was threatened many times, and my family was threatened by some bikers on the net in the chat rooms. that was another reason i chose to remain anonymous for so long. also, i had heard from so many news type shows to remain anonymous…dont give out much personal info. so, thats the other reasons why i was anonymous.

it was not because i was trying to hide behind anonymity and wouldnt stand behind my comments.

after i saw many others in the blogs telling who they were and it seemed alright, then i chose to tell you all who i was. it’s really as simple as all that.

    David-
I have no knowledge at all about your chat-room evangelistic efforts, but can certainly understand why one might choose to be anonymous in that context.

About the baptist blog world, however, your story is less that forthright. You posted hundreds and hundreds of comments on both Wade Burleson’s and Brad Reynold’s blogs under the name “volfan007.” About a month ago, Wade asked you to call or email him with your real name so that he could verify who you were due to the large number of comments you had made, and the attitude that you often had. It was then, and not until then, that you began to sign off with “David.”

To state as you have, or even to imply, that you waited until “after [you] saw many others in the blogs telling who they were and it seemed alright” is less that truthful. Who are those others? Tim Rogers? Bart Barber? Jeremy Green? Wade Burleson? Brad Reynolds? Nathan Finn? Marty Duren? Art Rogers? Kevin Bussey? All of these have used their real names the entire time that you have interacted in the baptist blogosphere.

You were confronted by Wade and then you started using your name. That’s it.

    marty,

i am being as truthful as i know how to be. i am not a liar. it took me a long time to come around to seeing that it was really ok to reveal who i was. in fact, my wife didnt want me to reveal it when i did, and one of my best friends said that i should not do it. so, it took me a while. God knows my heart. God knows the truth. i am telling you the truth.

if you must know, it was les that convinced me that i should tell who i was. it was something he said to me. and, if you’ll remember, i told wade and others often that i would reveal who i was at the identity conference….when we were not online. but then, les said somethings to me about it, and i thought about it, and then i just went ahead and told everyone.

    thats the facts.

i am so glad that everyone is so interested in knowing who i am.

    Brother Volfan 007,

My brothers, Pancho and Lefty Rica (Willie Nelson wrote a song about them) found you in a chat room. They had planned to creep your house and steal your truck. I mentioned it to cb thinking he would like to go along and help them steal your truck. At 1:00a.m. cb called Ben Cole and told him you were in trouble and asked him to help you. (He has done this before)

Ben went to his bathroom and pulled out a file relating to my brothers and the disappearance of one Mr. James Hoffa. Ben wrote a letter to my brothers. cb delivered the letter to them in the early hours of the morning. As he left their hideout he shot their Harleys with the same sawed off shotgun he had in Jackson under his trench coat. The Harleys burned.

No one other than Ben Cole and my brothers know exactly what was in the letter. That which we do know is they were last seen heading for Old Mexico riding two mules they stole from Sister Sara. The MAN WITH NO NAME and Lee Van Cleef were hot on their trail as Italian Spaghetti Western music played in the background.

The files stored in Cole’s bathroom contain the secrets world powers, the SBC and obviously Sergio Leone. You could say Ben Cole saved your truck with a bathroom file.

This is a true story. I, Villa Rica, never tell falsehoods. You should think about staying out of chat rooms and building a high wall around your house with mean dogs in the yard. My brothers may come back someday.

    Villa Rica

    villa,

your brothers sound very mean. so, let them know that i have some friends in high places and in low places that watch out for me. would you? you know, the Lord and His angels, and kinfolk, and some people from my past life that are…shall we say…rough; and i always have a friend called 12 gauge that helps me in bad situations. just let your bro.’s know about them, ok?

also, if i could get some pups from cb’s bad dogs, that would be helpful as well. then, i would have animal friends as well to watch over me and my family.

    adios, amigo. vaya con Dios.
