Pastoral Authority
Feb 13th, 2007 | By art rogers | Category: SBCA couple of things of note. First, I am not yet done with the Pastoral Blogging series. I have at least two more that deal with hosting your own domain and live blogging as a news source.
Also, I leave for Jackson, TN and the Baptist Identity II conference on Thursday. I return on Saturday night and leave Sunday to meet our church’s mission team already on the border of Mexico. We will be building a school and having Backyard Bible Clubs for kids on the Mexico side of the border. Posting next week may be sparse, but may not. I depends on schedule, more than anything.
In the meantime, Dr. Morris Chapman has reposted an article from The Shophar, a periodical of Criswell College, that originally appeared in 1983. It concerns pastoral authority and these words from yesteryear may bear fruit in your thoughts and ministry today. This is particularly salient in light of the issues of pastoral authority that are emerging across Christendom and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Wow, that was a good article. Thanks for linking to it, Art.
I now definitely have a deeper appreciation for the role all you pastors play in leading God’s flock.
Excellent article, Art. It was really challenging and affirming as well. I think that I’m going to send it to the elders and pastoral staff in our church. It would really encourage them. Thanks.
See you in a couple of days. I’m actually starting to look forward to it.
Have fun,
I would love to be there. I have to save my conf. $$ for San Antonio!
