A Picture of Marty Duren

TAGS: None

Well, everyone seems to want a really good picture of Marty, so I am posting this one.

I think it is good because he is doing what he does so well: Blogging.

I am flying back to Tulsa today. Play nice in the comment string while I am gone.

Marty looks like Johnny Depp with a haircut.

I’m wondering if Marty should be concerned that Kevin and Art are taking back side photos of him.

I’d be watching for laser sight lines at this point myself.

Did Art at any time try to obtain the SBC Outpost password from you, Marty? I’d say that would be a red flag.

Is this the beginning of a blog town news takeover?

How do we know that Marty even exists? Was Marty Deep Throat? Inquiring minds want to know….

    Art,
This reminds me of the whole “Wilson” thing on Home Improvement. Did anyone ever actually see his face? :)

I know Marty and have seen him on several occassions. You have posted a picture of his best side!

    Sorry Sonya! :)

    Okay X-Law Man,
At least he doesn’t take his hair dryer with him on mission trips into the African bush!! :)

Does Marty need 2 computers? Is one for blogging and the other for surveillance? Maybe Marty is the one being paid by SWBTS to monitor blogs?

    Coincidence? — I don’t think so….

Hmm. .. I wonder if that’s the Contact Lens Solution bottle he keeps the communion wine in. If so, he keeps it handy, at least.

I’m going to have to try that. Might even be able to get that through TSA.

I was trying to figure out if the extra computer is wearing a tie. Some sort of stripes it seems.

Perhaps it is a different “Wilson” than Sonya mentioned above. Perhaps that is like the volleyball Wilson from Cast Away.

Art caught a picture of the elusive Wilson of the SBC sitting next to his only friend, Wilson the computer. And a high class friend is this computer Wilson … wearing a tie.

But to whom does the tie belong? (I’ve heard Marty doesn’t own one.)

    Kevin -
You asked “How do we know that Marty even exists?”

I’ve thought the same question about Dorcas Hawker. I heard from a reliable source that Dorcas Hawker is really the undercover blog name for OS Hawkins.

Actually, I’ve met both of them.

EASY SONYA! You would be proud of me these days. I have put away my “childish” things such as a hair dryer.

IMBLITS, Marty does not own a tie, or a razor for that matter.

I am actually the brain of a computer hidden in a dark corner of the attic above Parkview Baptist Church. Dust encrusted and covered with spiderwebs. Monitor glowing green with wavy lines. I am the last keeper of all original SBC knowledge and THE source that so often goes unnamed.

My discovery was lucky happenstance for some and doom for others. When I go, who knows what havoc will lie in my wake. But for now I am here … fear and respect the brain and you will live to see the dawn of a new day in the SBC.

    Jeremy-
Dude, if you only knew how deep that cut ;^)

    OS Hawker-
Art did try to record me talking in my sleep, but all he got was Ben preaching like Joel Gregory.

Did anyone notice that I’m “blogging” on the Windows log on screen? It takes way more time that way…

    Art-
That is indeed my best side.

Dorcas should be able to recognize whose tie that is on the other computer. She’s probably seen it in the pulpit of her church. Just another shadowy figure rarely captured on film. Gunsights…maybe

The tie is a clue to the computer’s ownership; it’s make (Mac) is another. In lieu of photographic evidence, this will have to do…

All this photo proves is that instead of going out to buy a shirt … this time when Marty left his extra clothes at home, he stole some guy’s luggage.

I think we’re all dying to have this question answered: Did Marty dress up for the EC meetings? And since we’re talking about Marty here, by “dress up,” of course, I mean “wear socks.”

    ;-)

    Wes-
I can assure you that I was the only person in jeans and a polo shirt. Everyone one was so overdressed that one member asked me if I was homeless.

I don’t know if socks were invovled, but Marty was the most underdressed. I followed closely behind with slacks and short sleeved button down shirts.

Which leaves the mysterious question of the tie.

I will say, Sonya, that it was nice talking to you for just a minute. Your husband loves you very much and is also quite proud of your daughter.

Just back to the church, stragiht from the airport, btw. Thanks for the prayers.

    Marty,

That can’t possibly be the startup page, since you don’t know my log in password – I think it was the shut down page, if I remember correctly. You were leaving, remember?

    Marty,

Had you been holding a cup when first I saw you in Greensboro, I might have been tempted to empty my pockets of change…

    ;-)

That’s just Marty’s clothes draped over the ironing board.

He was getting ready to leave and set them there – not getting ready to iron. ;)

You know I wasn’t getting ready to iron!

Just for the record, I’m quite proud of all 3 of my kids. God has really, really blessed us.

There you have it, folks. Breaking news!

Marty Duren has gone “on the record” with a statement that says he is proud of all his children!

    ;)
