I’ve been book tagged by Marty Duren.

Typical. I have some significant posts with active comment strings and he sends me this. I wonder if he is deliberately sabotaging my blog. ;)

Here goes:

1. One book that changed your life: Honest to God, Bill Hybels.
2. One book that you’ve read more than once: Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien. (This is not the only book I’ve re-read, but it is my childhood favorite.)
3. One book I’d want on a desert island: Other than the Bible, To the Golden Shore: The Life of Adoniram Judson, Courtney Anderson.
4. One book that made me laugh: Blue Like Jazz, Donald Miller. (I know this copies Marty. What can I say? I wish I was him.)
5. One book that made me cry: Lives Given Not Taken, Jerry Rankin.
6. One book that you wish you had written: Let the Nations Be Glad, John Piper.
7. One book you wish had never been written: Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, by David Michaels. (That’s right. Somebody wrote a book based on a game with Tom Clancy’s name on it and Barnes and Noble had it filed with other Tom Clancy books – alpha by author. I am not a big fan of this stuff, in fact never read one of his books before. Nothing against him, fans, just never really had time. Looking for a distraction, I bought a book with his name on it written by someone else – and it was terrible. Threw it away after three pages.)
8. One book that you are currently reading: I’m not. I just threw that other one away and my “theological stack of books purchased and waiting” is in a box, still.
9. One book that you’ve been meaning to read: Take your pick. They are in a box, but I am trying to get to Breaking the Missional Code, Ed Stetzer & David Putnam.
