My Friday Photo

Jun 16th, 2006 | By art rogers | Category: Blogging, Greensboro '06, SBC

Steve McCoy and Joe Thorn always post great pics on Friday. Mine is not great, but…

Since no one sent me a picture of myself for my photo contest, here is a phone pic I took. Look for a few more, later.

  1. Hello Art, my name is Stephen Morse. My wife and I sat with you at the Founder’s Breakfast. It was a pleasure to speak with you. I wish that I would have known you when I was serving in your area at Calvary in Franklin. I longed for Reformed brothers (I still do).

Come visit me sometime at http://www.throwtheword.com.

  2. I deleted an anonymous (of course) comment that insinuated that Rachelle Burleson was pouring liquor.

Give me a break. I saw no liquor anywhere at anytime during the SBC. I personally do not drink. The insinuation is character assaination and to post such a thing anonymously shows a complete lack of character on YOUR part.

For everyone’s information, she is pouring out of a plastic soda container a red soda. She was squeezing it in the middle as some do (not me, though.)

You can tell that it is a soda bottle because of the white ring around the neck where the white plastic cap was detached from the safety ring.

Leave your libelous rhetoric behind. Why would anybody listen to what you say if you assasinate character and do so both poorly and foolishly.

Just wait until CB hears about this. It’s a good thing I deleted this comment before he found it and tracked your ip address. Yeah, he knows someone who can do that.

  3. Art,

NO, not a picture of me taken from the side!!! If that resolution on gluttony were to ever pass, my denominational career would be over!

    Hmmm, I should be safe.

  4. It was Strawberry Soda from the local grocery store! :)

    My favorite. :)

  5. I have no doubt that Wade is truthful in saying it was strawberry soda. He always buys the cheap stuff:-)

  6. Hey Art,

That anonymous comment was me. I did not intend to post it anonymously, I just wasn’t careful with the radio buttons. Perhaps I should have put a winking smiley face to indicate my sarcasm, but I thought it was pretty clearly tongue-in-cheek. I guess the fact that it was mis-interpreted to be real means there are people who really would make a serious accusation like that from a phone camera photo? At least if some of the other comments I’ve seen on some of these alcohol threads are to be believed.

Anyway, my apologies. I was just trying to joke around a little after a bunch of seriousness. I don’t want Wade to worry that the photo will be presented at the next IMB meeting.

  7. Philip,

Hey, thanks for clarifying. I’m sorry if I over reacted. I have been bombed a couple of times today, so I guess that colored my thinking.

Praise God He is merciful and does not judge us on our inabilities, but on His sufficiency.

  8. Phillip,

Thank you for clearing that up. I had just loaded up the bulldogs to begin the “hunt” when my friend CB told me to stand down that it was not a green light.

The dogs were restless due to not getting to go. I calmed them down with a promise that we would go to Kevin Bussey’s house and let them smell his microphone so they could get on the trail of the Phelps Gang and round them up before they desecrate any more Flags or bring more sorrow to the families of fallen service men and women.

Again, thanks for standing up and dealing with the matter properly.

  9. Hey – that’s a picture with me in it! How fun.

  10. Art – I have some camera phone photos of CB … but don’t have the technology to get them off my phone and to my blog. Bummer.

  11. Villa,

You are a funny one! I could have used your dogs! :)

  12. Art, I took a photo of you standing next to the curtain waiting on the presidential results to be read. I later deleted it because it was dark in that corridor going into the arena and you were looking shadowy. But good grief – if I would’ve have known your standards for posting photos, I would have kept it and claimed my prize! =-)

  13. Hey, camera phones are camera phones. What can you expect?

You should have sent it. I was expecting “clandestine” photos to be dark and blurry. Heck, I was counting on it.
