Gene Mims, as he was addressing the convention, said that “there is too much bloggin’ and communicatin’ goin’ on out there.”
If you want the convention to be uninformed and for about 35 men to control the SBC, then I suppose that is true.
If you want a well informed convention, that elects men that reflect the breadth of the SBC, then we may need a few more.
I just sat down next to a messenger from Texas who asked if I was the Art Rogers from the blog. When I told him I was, he thanked me for the information.
No. He is not a Younger Leader.

Too much communication. No wonder people are leaving the SBC in droves. I’m sorry to read this, but I can’t say it’s unexpected.

Someone should change the name of their blog to “Too Much Bloggin’.”
Hey, maybe I will!

I think what he actually said was “blogged to death” and “communicated to death”. Let’s check the archive.
Funny anecdote: near the end of Mims sermon/speech when he started going off on blogging, and seemed to be doing more politics than preaching, someone in the stands above me said only loud enough for a few of us to hear: “Call for the Question!”
I think that would be a nice way to let the pastor know when he has run too long on a Sunday sermon. Noon hits, people are hungry, deacon stands up at the back and says: “Amen pastor! We hear you. I call for the question.” In other words … move on to the invitation.
Well … I thought it was a funny thought.
