Johnny Hunt nominated Ronnie Floyd laced with phrases like, “He’s one of us.”
Jerry Sutton is nominated with the same phrase, but not the same rhetoric throughout.
Both indicated ties to the establishment.
Frank Page is nominated with calls for unity and CP giving.
All talked about the CP, but Johnny rang very hollow.
When we voted the sound of chads being punched out was audible when the number of the chad was announced if we were voting for Frank Page.
I don’t even think there will be a runoff.

With a motion on the 10 percent language being made and heard from the Congress earlier, I’m not surprised. Even though it was defeated, I think the mood of the Congress favors CP giving. The 0 for Sutton did him no favors, though I talked to some of his supporters earlier in the day.
I sure hope no chads are left hanging in this election…

Thanks for posting from the convention. I could not attend, so I am watching the convention by streaming video and I am monitoring your blog.

I watched the video and was struck by how much the first 2 nominations sounded like intros at a pastors conference, and the Pollock nomination of Page sounded like a sermon. I think I actually got goose bumps! Pollock hit on all cylinders.

Watching everything via the sort-of-streaming media provided by the SBC. Thanks so much for the updates. Can’t wait to hear how the debate goes tonight.
I’ll admit I’m sitting here in my office in Memphis watching everything, so I’m a little detached, but it seems to me like the suits can talk all they want, but when a messenger steps up to the mike, they’re warned to make it quick before they even get a word in.
Shouldn’t those in the “pulpit” be held to the same standard as those in the “pew”? Do the orders of business not apply to those on the podium?
Just wondering…

I am in agreement with Bro. Bob, thanks for blogging live. I am also watching via stream (haven’t had a good stream today – I hope that is because so many are watching) and monitoring your site. Pollock gave an incredible nomination that had me shouting “amen.”

ragamuffin,
Yes, the same rules should apply as a matter of parlimentary procedure.
