The leadership of the SBC has taken on the responsibility of overhauling a broken system. Many of us thought that it would be the responsibility of the messengers to persuade the convention from the floor. That was a tremendous load that has now been eased considerably. Our task is now made much easier by the Committee on Committees, the Executive Committee and our elected officers.
I have to say, I am in complete awe of the great things these men and women have done. They have shown me that we really are one family and that with these actions, we all win.
And the convention doesn’t even start until tomorrow. WOW!

I spoke to a good friend of mine who is on the Executive Committee and they are putting folks in that have not served on a SBC entity in 2 years and he said there is much discussion about to much of pastors and/or laymen/laywomen that elect folks from their own church can no longer do that. They must be from a different church. This is a start I think this is going to be a really important Convention and I hope we all are ready to vote I for one am excited about it.

Wouldn’t you know it, when the convention is within 20 minutes drive of my church field I have to miss it because of deaths. I have two Funerals this week, one tomorrow, and another on Wednesday.
Great news about the XCom. decisions. Do you feel that Dr. Floyd will step down? If he does what happens in the IMB BoT in order to elect another Chairman? I know the “grandfather” clause will be used and probably should be then it would appear the XCom did this just to target him. However, doesn’t this affect others in other entities’ Trustee’s?
