Rules for Comments

TAGS: None

Here are the rules for commenting on my blog:

1. No assaulting of character. Anonymous bombs are especially unwelcome, whether you agree with me or not.

2. Anonymous posting is welcome, but mind your manners. If you post anonymously, you need to go out of your way to be polite.

3. Link to evidence of claims you make. This goes for everybody. If you can’t link to it, at least tell where you got the info.

4. A turn in the conversation is fine, but try to stay on topic.

5. Plugging your blog is fine, as long as you are referring to something you have written that relates to the topic at hand. Don’t randomly attempt to hijack my blog.

I will try to be fair and you are free to disagree with me.

Any comment that goes over the line is subject to deletion, though I try to avoid this.

Thanks for reading and joining the conversation.

The preceding was an attempt to have my comment deleted for flagrant violation of rule 4. Let’s see if these rules have teeth.

I have decided that off topic posts are actually the very topic of this post, so feel free!

    Ha!

That sounds like Calvin arguing with Hobbes.

Not to get off topic, but yes I did watch the NASCAR race. I’m pumped about Dale Jarrett going to Toyota too!

I love Calvin and Hobbes. I am trying to figure out a way to do a post on Calvin-ball without drawing out a whole bunch of commenters who won’t get that I’m joking around.

    Dear Art,

Thank you very much for changing the terminology to “plugging” your blog instead of the other term. That allows me to breath a huge sigh of relief.

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff

    Art,

I agree with Jeff and your Mother. So are you plugging a bit + a block? Or, maybe you are refusing to answer THESE question in favor of answering some other questions :-)

    CB,

    I’m the prince of nothing.

Gratefully, I am adopted by the King of kings and that is plenty for me – I know it is for you as well.

All Moms remembered and gifted. Calls to ensue tomorrow after church.

    Blessings!

    Brother Art
Went home to see my Mama for Mother’s Day and asked her about the family connection. She remembers you and your family and said something about loosing track over the years. Seems that there was some family disagreement over the “translation” of the Bible. Seems that one was KJV and the other KJV Only. I do not know the details, but I enjoyed the time with her. She showed me pictures of you when you were a baby-and that is as far as I am going with that thought.
In telling her about our re-connection through the blog world she became very convicted that she had not been able to contribute to your ministry through the years. I told her that I felt you would understand, but she just would not let it rest. Finally, she came to the conclusion that the inheritance I was supposed to divide with my other 12 or 14 or is it 8, I cannot remember, sibling would be re-apportioned and she would go ahead and get you something for the years of lost contact.
Therefore, she wants me to act as a spokesman for our family and let you know that we are in the position to advance your ministerial efforts by donating directly to you, with no strings attached–a crisp fresh 100 Grand! She said that since you were coming to Greensboro it would be a great time to do this. I personally want to contact Dorcas to see what legal leg I have to stand on because of the loss of my inheritance. However, she is my Mama and I plan to do what she asks, so where and when would be good for you in order for our family to be reunited in order to present to you this 100 Grand?

    Loving you as Family
    Tim

    Tim,

    You are funny.

I’ll meet you anywhere you want if you are giving me 100 g’s. I’ll even tithe to your church as well as mine. ;)

He’s probably talking about the candy bar.

Don’t give him any banking information; save that for the Nigerian banker who wants to give your church $12 million in gold…

    Brother Art,
Remember that I said I was giving you a 100 Grand, not 100 g’s. I can see how you fell for the Ronnie Floyd phone call.
Seriously, is there a meeting of the bloggers somewhere in Greensboro? If not, how interested are you in trying to get something organized?
    Tim

I commend you for allowing anonymous folks to participate. If you have been around a while(like 20 yrs) you understand why.

your request for respect is certainly reasonable
